Development
Shota M.
As we develop new applications in our team, I remember how happy I was to be able to reflect the results of our trial-and-error efforts in the implementation of those applications.
-
Please tell us about your current job.
I work in programming, developing web applications that provide a range of services. Currently I am testing web applications that link with payment services to process billing for services sold by Pyxos. It takes a lot of time, and I am constantly iterating between actual implementation (coding) of application source code and thinking about how to design the implementation. I find programming to be an enjoyable activity—in addition to implementation, it involves working from designs and incorporating a range of opinions into your own ideas that you then represent as computer operations.
-
What is your best memory since joining Pyxos?
As our team develops new applications, my supervisor points out areas with room for improvement. Although this made me painfully aware of my lack of expertise, I was happy to learn new ways of thinking, and to be able to reflect the results of this trial-and-error process in our implementation. It'd make me even happier if we are able to create something that points out a new need and addresses it.

I was working towards the goal of being able to program as my job. Programming lets you give form to your ideas, which is an attractive endeavor in itself, and also offers the appeal of creating something. Choosing Pyxos, which handles the entire development process from application design to implementation, will offer you a sense of achievement. I also think that Pyxos offers the best possible equipment and environment for developers to focus on their work. I believe that in the midst of a range of possibilities, it’s important to keep your own perspective on things.
HR
Ayaka Y.
Although there are many challenging aspects to training and evaluating employees, it makes me very happy to be able to see people grow, and I find my job rewarding.
-
Please tell us about your current job.
I am able to understand the attitudes and ways of thinking that people in development, sales, and support have with regard to their work, which is useful in my current position in the Human Resources Department. I am now involved with the hiring of new graduates, the planning of in-house training, and personnel evaluations. Although there are many challenging aspects to training and evaluating employees, it makes me very happy to be able to see people grow, and I find my job rewarding. Right now, my goal is for this to be a company worth working for, where the strengths of each employee, as well as the areas where they could improve, are clear.
-
What is your best memory since joining Pyxos?
When I was working in a product department, I once received some criticism from a user regarding our products and support. Afterwards, the entire department reviewed our support systems, and after some time we received a lovely comment from the customer who had criticized us before saying “If it’s a Pyxos product, I feel safe to continue using it.” That incident showed me the reality behind the phrase, “a complaint is simply a passionate request from a customer.”

A message for students looking for jobs
Searching for a job is a valuable chance to find out about many different companies. What’s more, it offers you the rare opportunity to confront the unique qualities that you have developed over the years. When things around you become hectic, it can be easy to lose sight of who you really are, but as you get to know more companies, you are sure to find out more about how you want to work, what is important to you, and what is appealing about you. Receiving an offer of employment is not the goal. Don’t rush; find a company that makes you think, “This is where I want to start.” I’m looking forward to meeting you!
Sales
Masamichi A.
Making customers happy makes me happy
-
Please tell us about your current job.
I am responsible for overall sales related to Julea and the improvement of system functions. In sales, I specifically focus on responding to new inquiries and providing follow-ups for orders, providing support to users via telephone and e-mail, and advertising. For improvements to system functions, I summarize user needs and evaluate and investigate system requirements. For the most part my job is in-house. Although I work in sales, I need a basic understanding of IT as well as a working knowledge of dental claim forms, which you will learn about in depth after joining the company. In terms of job satisfaction, making customers who have installed Pyxos products happy makes me happy.
-
What is your best memory since joining Pyxos?
It’s difficult to choose the best memory, but I interact with many people every day in my work, and since every person is different, so is each memory. Some are good memories, and of course some are not. When a problem does occur, the way I solve it helps me to grow and that is interesting in itself. That said, the first customer that ordered from me may be my best memory.

Although perhaps everyone has their own perception of sales, sales work at Pyxos is focused more on in-house tasks than on those outside the company. We are able to take weekends off, which is an extremely good situation for sales work. Also, you’re going to interact with people at any company you end up at, so there is no harm in brushing up your communications skills; people who like interacting with others are well-suited to sales. What’s more, if you have an interest in and affinity for IT, I think you will be able to put it to good use. You may have some misgivings, but the senior staff will support you well, so feel free to apply.

Technical Support
Chisa Y.
I do my best to get to the real meaning behind our customers’ words.
-
Please tell us about your current job.
Working in technical support, I am primarily responsible for installing our products and explaining how they work to customers, as well as for troubleshooting and other post-installation followup; I provide both services and technology. During installation, I test the connection between the digital charts and the medical systems, offering suggestions on how to use Rehamate in a way that matches the operational status of each hospital. A lot of my work is done in communication with hospitals and responsible personnel at a variety of different equipment manufacturers, and while it can be challenging to have my knowledge and ability to offer suggestions put to the test, I do find it immensely rewarding. No matter what the task, I do my best to improve customer satisfaction and to get to the real meaning behind our customers’ words.
-
What is your best memory since joining Pyxos?
Although I have had many memorable moments while providing support over the telephone, my best memories are of interacting with so many people when I go on-site to install our products. I get to know these people in the course of my frequent visits. After installation, they are kind enough to ask for me by name when they need support over the telephone and even offer suggestions for some good restaurants close to their hospitals, which can lead to some lively conversations once I’ve eaten there. I feel that I make more connections with people each time I visit a hospital.

A message for students looking for jobs
Although I majored in information engineering at university, even in those days I was never able to get comfortable with programming. Despite that, when looking for employment I was keen to work in a systems-related job somehow. During my search I came across a technical support position at Pyxos, which led to a job where I was able to take on a variety of challenges while putting the knowledge I learned as a student to use. I think that when looking for work you can sometimes lose sight of what kind of job would suit you. If you find a dream that you’re not willing to compromise on and keep that in view right to the end, I’m sure that you will find a job that meets your requirements. Try your best and see it through.
